Water Water by Kelly Spong

Flush my eyes to ocean and I’ll cry sea stars instead of rain, but how will the crops grow? I’m as lonesome as a dandelion bathing amongst the azaleas, their tongues taunting me about my girlish, yellow glow. I should have been a conch instead, floated through the oceans until finally I spotted land, like a drunk, helpless to tell his hand from the bottle.
